Salmon Cakes
The best Salmon Cakes that you can make at home! and with only a few ingredients!
- 500 grams Salmon
- 1 Shallot
- 1 small red bell pepper
- 1 TBSP Capers
- 1 TBSP Fresh Lemon Juice
- 1 TBSP Chives Sub for Parsley, or DIll
- 2 TBSP Bread Crumbs panko is better
- 2 TBSP Mayonnaise optional
- Salt to taste
- Pinch of Black pepper
Poaching the Salmon
Poach briefly in simmering water with lemon, bay leaf, and optional peppercorns.
Cook for 2-3 minutes.
Remove just before fully cooked to avoid overcooking.
Preparing the Cakes
Finely chop shallots, red bell and capers, and slice chives.
Sauté shallots until clear.
Combine sautéed vegetables, salmon, breadcrumbs, egg yolks, and optional mayonnaise.
Season with salt.
Cook and test a small piece for seasoning.
Roll out salmon patties on parchment paper with additional breadcrumbs.
